12.25pm - Hmmm, a common theme in Vancouver - back to the hotel late after along day's work.



October 15th

11pm: I wish I could post something momentous about this day, but it was just work, work, work! As ever I am in the Sandman on West Georgia, where the staff know my name! It's late & I have forgotten to take a picture..

June 14th

7pm. Vancouver & I have left my trusty camera at home for this 3 day trip, thus forced to use my rubbish Blackberry phone camera. Suitably uninspired I just took a quick shot out of my downtown Vancouver hotel window!

April 21st

7.45pm: Jimmy Tenga thumps home a penalty for Canmore Utd in our 6-1 defeat of the Collegiate. OK it is men against boys, but the school coach, ex-Charlton midfielder Gavin Peacock is testing his team out prior to their upcoming season. They are a very talented bunch of lads & with Gavin's coaching they will have an excellent chance of winning the trophy this year. For our part, we had a good run out in sensational weather - I think it hit 25C today. An enjoyable game, but the mosquitoes!! Man!!

March 22nd

11pm. Another insanely busy day, this time in Vancouver & I am finally back in my hotel - however there is a nightclub by that white van & the music is pumping out. Not good & I need some sleep. Earlier had been to The Lift, a real beautiful eatery on the harbour overlooking Stanley Park - as photogenic a spot as you could wish for, if you had remembered to take your camera with you that is!

March 18th

11.30pm : I went all the way, a six hour drive from Canmore to Vernon, BC - through some stupendous scenery & the only picture I got was this!! It was a very busy day though, 7am depart, 1 pm arrive, 2pm start work, 11pm finish.........oh well, one of those days I guess. Photography for the most part was the last thing on my mind. A desperation shot in my nondescript hotel room before crashing out.

March 2nd

5pm: My hotel in Vancouver had a rooftop balcony, the benefits of getting the 14th floor suite. So here is the view looking north, the big Olympic inspired Maple Leaf adorning the Canada Post building. A definite sense of "after The Lord Mayor's Show" pervaded the city - everywhere the Olympic infrastructure was being torn down, businesses were quiet and the odd media straggler/tourist/athlete was to be seen wandering about looking a little forlorn.........

February 3rd

7pm: Suitcase/Hotel, taken to record my 9th night away from home. I had checked into 5 different hotels in that time & was getting mightily fed up of being away from the family and living out of this infernal thing!

January 26th

11pm: Desperation strikes! Stuck in a miserable hotel near the airport in Toronto, a whole day passed with no photo opportunities, I resort to a quick snapshot of the place. Possibly the dullest photo of the year so far, I can only apologise. The flight over from Calgary was miserable, my flight strangely cancelled so squeezed onto a packed 4 hour flight in the middle seat - not fun.
