November 3rd

12.25pm - Hmmm, a common theme in Vancouver - back to the hotel late after along day's work.

October 15th

11pm: I wish I could post something momentous about this day, but it was just work, work, work! As ever I am in the Sandman on West Georgia, where the staff know my name! It's late & I have forgotten to take a picture..

August 1st

11pm: I forgot to take any photos today until late on, i had been practising my guitar so threw together this little shot. Some days are just not meant for fancy photography.

June 14th

7pm. Vancouver & I have left my trusty camera at home for this 3 day trip, thus forced to use my rubbish Blackberry phone camera. Suitably uninspired I just took a quick shot out of my downtown Vancouver hotel window!

May 30th

11pm: A cold evening, the sort of evening for alphabetizing (is that a word?) one's CD collection!!

May 27th

10pm: I'm sorry to say this week has been pretty uninspiring on the photo front. As you can tell from my muddy football boots the weather has been crap & taking photos a chore rather than a pleasure. Still football training was fun, hard work in the cold & wet, but energising fun. The team is coming together well, think we will compete this year.

May 21st

11pm: Hah! The worst photo of the year - no doubt!!! I had spent the day in Calgary for work, interviewing some prospective employees. Then rushed home to have sushi with the kids & nearly forgot my daily photo - so I decided to capture my nightly ritual of covering the tomatos & tomatillos with plastic, fleece & tarpaulin in a vain effort to stop them from freezing. It's a bank holiday weekend, it's predictably freezing, we had to turn the central heating back on - oh man!

March 22nd

11pm. Another insanely busy day, this time in Vancouver & I am finally back in my hotel - however there is a nightclub by that white van & the music is pumping out. Not good & I need some sleep. Earlier had been to The Lift, a real beautiful eatery on the harbour overlooking Stanley Park - as photogenic a spot as you could wish for, if you had remembered to take your camera with you that is!

March 18th

11.30pm : I went all the way, a six hour drive from Canmore to Vernon, BC - through some stupendous scenery & the only picture I got was this!! It was a very busy day though, 7am depart, 1 pm arrive, 2pm start work, 11pm finish.........oh well, one of those days I guess. Photography for the most part was the last thing on my mind. A desperation shot in my nondescript hotel room before crashing out.

February 17th

11.35pm: Nearly forgot today's picture. We had George & MJ, Paul & Anastasia & their kids round for a really fun, but hectic supper & after a few beers I forgot all about daily pictures until just before bedtime. Was great to see Stefan achieve an excellent result at The Olympics earlier today in the cross country sprints.

February 2nd

7pm: Cambridge, Ontario fifty miles south-west of Toronto & the apartment block that my good friend from work John lives in. Another desperation shot really as i had been stuck at work all day & then the snow started on our way to Cambridge. My hotel was just round the corner from here & as we made our way to his excellent local Vietnamese restaurant, I turned & took this shot. Nothing special photographically but a nice reminder of a pleasant evening.

January 27th

11pm: Times Square, New York - another desperation shot after a full on busy day with work colleagues & clients. We ended up in a restaurant just round the corner from our hotel & this was shot as we stumbled back. Times Square is truly, truly horrible but people are drawn to it like moths to a bulb. Everywhere gawping tourists take crappy pictures (much like the one above), whilst hustlers of every description attempt to part them from their cash with shitty comedy shows, bus tours, CD's and god knows what. Awful chain restaurants draw them in for brown, deep fried food & ghastly drinks - what an unmitigatingly fetid hole this place is, in an otherwise magnificent city.

January 26th

11pm: Desperation strikes! Stuck in a miserable hotel near the airport in Toronto, a whole day passed with no photo opportunities, I resort to a quick snapshot of the place. Possibly the dullest photo of the year so far, I can only apologise. The flight over from Calgary was miserable, my flight strangely cancelled so squeezed onto a packed 4 hour flight in the middle seat - not fun.
